I was recently promoted at work, and my company sent me away to leadership training.
Too bad for me the training was in Walt Disney World.
The training was at the Contemporary Resort, and I did some reading waiting for the course to start.
I was really excited for the training.
We weren’t allowed to take pictures during the training, so I grabbed this one before things got started.
This book has been instrumental in my early success as a leader.
Lunch was provided, too.
Here was the room I was given…
With a view of the lake.
After the training was done for the day, the class had an outdoor dinner.
Being a Disney Vacation Club member, I had access to the Top of The World Bar.
I took some of my classmates up for fun.
A bar means beer.
Later that night we were given exclusive access to the fireworks at Epcot.
Food was there for us, too.
When you wore special glasses, the fireworks looked like Mickeys!!!
We were given some behind the scenes access at the Magic Kingdom, but no pictures allowed backstage.
We had dinner that night….
Thenm it was back to the Top of The World Bar.
It’s a great place to watch the fireworks.
Killing time by the pool after class the next day with a classmate.
I had nothing to do that night…
So I hung out with some classmates.
How Disney handles gendered bathrooms.
The next day, no pictures backstage, so I grabbed this one as we emerged into Animal Kingdom from backstage.
We were given a tour, in the rain, about how some of the leadership processes work.
I “graduated” and got my photo with Mickey!!
These are the core takeaways from the class.
I’m very thankful that my company recognizes the need to properly train people. Thanks!!!!
