Beach week is the week between Memorial Day weekend and the Ravens Roost convention.
This year, Molly came along with me for the trip.
We went to OC Wasabi for dinner. Notice any picture in particular on the wall?
9 Mile Roots was playing at Seacrets, so we went and checked them out.
Molly cane with me while I took some photos of the band…
And then we headed backstage.
Molly was kind enough to grab some drinks.
After the break it was back to playing music.
They had a great show, and I’m thankful to Josh for allowing me to do the photography!!
When the wind blows and you have curly hair.
It seems the wind was blowing both of our hair.
Saturday morning vinyl.
Molly made a very heathly lunch for us to eat.
And then we headed to the boardwalk to catch show number 2 of the week.
Higher Education was the band. Find Molly.
Casey was in town and stopped by to say hello.
My cousin was on his way over, so I cued up some music.
I mostly see Robert at the beach.
His soon to be wife, Kristin.
The next day it was out to the foggy beach.
Molly was determined to get in the water.
After successfully dunking herself.
After the beach we went for a bike ride.
We headed back to the boardwalk for show number 3, Bond and Bentley.
Afterwards, we were rebels and rode our bikes on the boardwalk during non-bike hours.
We rode uptown to Assawoman Bay Brewing Company..
Kinda looks like a smiley face.
I love being at the beach.
We left Assawoman Bay Brewing Company and headed to…
Macky’s!!!
Sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
Riley, always wants to be next to you.
We decided to go back to Macky’s for dinner because they are pet friendly.
While we had our snacks…
Riley ordered his own food.
He got the chopped up slidders and was in doggie heaven.
There was a lot of rain the first few days of the trip.
For the evening, we went to Pizza Tugos.
The brie was just OK.
The next morning I renewed my pass to drive on the beach at Assateague Island.
There were only 19 other cars on the beach when we got there.
Assateague Island is dog friendly, too.
We went for a walk…
And then Molly decided to get in the water, again.
Staring down the ocean.
Riley just relaxed in the shade.
On the way out we saw some horses…
A couple were right next to the road!!
When we got home, Molly made fish tacos!!!!
Then we relaxed on the beach while the sun set.
We did date night at The Skye Bar and had a KILLER dessert. Check out their desserts if you go.
Getting towards the end of the week, and the Ravens convention was getting started.
But Molly had to work the next day, so we went back to DC for the night.
Yummy ice cream to help ease the pain of leaving the beach.
While Molly worked, Riley and I watched the geese at a nearby pond.
And about 24 hours after we left, we were back at the beach.
The Ravens Roost crowd was getting into gear.
We headed home for the night, and Lori stopped by to say hello.
My birthday had arrived!!!
Molly bought me dividers for my record collection!!!
Then it was off to breakfast.
Barn 34 has great breakfasts.
We relaxed a little…
And then headed back to the hospitality suite for the Roost.
I entered a horseshoes competition…
Which Rob and I promptly lost in the first round. (It was his birthday, too)
Darin Engh was the live music for show number 4.
Being goofy back at the condo.
Riley is very photogenic.
Molly made dinner, again…
And I’m very happy with her cooking.
To end the night it was back down to the Ravens Roost suite.
We were all ready for the parade the next morning.
Passing by the judges’ stand.
Afterwards we went on a bar crawl.
Like last year, we all signed each others’ shirts.
And then went from bar to bar.
I found T at Coins.
Our last stop of the day before heading home.
The next day it was out to the beach before heading home.
On the way back, we stopped at RAR brewing.
And then to end the week, we hung out with Molly’s friends in DC.
