Guys weekend started on Tuesday night with Mike and I getting together for a few drinks.
The next day I headed to the beach after work.
I love crossing this bridge to the Eastern Shore.
We decided to stop in Cambridge and meet at RAR brewing.
A few beers and then it was time to make the final drive to the beach.
We were heading down for the NFL draft.
This was my first time at the beach since the bathroom above mine flooded.
Looks like I need a new rug for my kitchen area.
We wasted no time in going out for food.
Sushi is a staple for us at the beach.
Oh yeah, that looks good.
We decided to get a keg of beer to save on going out drinking.
We’re still missing two people, but we’ll manage until they get to the ocean.
Taking a break from drinking to make sure we are well hydrated.
And then it was back to drinking.
Keep in mind, it’s Wednesday.
Joe and I went for a walk on the beach…
Before heading back to the condo for the night.
The next morning Chris joined us (to the displeasure of Peter who would be losing the bed).
They had never been to Ocean City Brewing, so we stopped by.
Cheers!!!
The beers are just OK, and the food is the same.
We need a knife to open the package, and Peter had a huge Rambo knife.
He also has a flashlight that doubles as a taser.
This pretty much sums up how we spent Thursday afternoon.
We did get into some video games…
Specifically, Star Wars pinball.
We were rapidly going through pitchers of beer.
Oh boy, Peter is playing the Boba Fett table.
And now the reason we’re at the beach, the 2015 NFL Draft.
One year we’ll have to actually go to the draft.
Being a father of two takes its toll.
We kept our notes as we did in previous years.
And talked to Peter, who would be coming down on Friday.
The Ravens first pick.
With round 1 done, it was time to go out drinking.
We ended up at Mother’s.
And then headed back home for the night.
Finishing it out with some more pinball.
The next day we headed to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware.
We stopped into Dogfish Head for some drinks.
I like to try the beer that is only available in the bar.
This time it was Gorgeous Torches.
We all had some food, too.
Uh oh. That is going to slow down Peter from getting to the beach.
It was pretty cold outside that day.
Chris picked up some white chedder popcorn that you can only get at the Rehoboth Beach location.
And then we stopped by the Greene Turtle for a round of shots.
From there it was over to a record store to pick up some vinyl.
Joe bought this gem.
It wasn’t too long after we got back…
That Peter finally arrived after 5-6 hours of traffic. The drive usually takes about 2.5 hours.
Shots for everyone!!!!
Tom stopped by to say hi.
And now we had a party going.
Time to go drinking.
Chris and Peter weren’t with us the first time we got sushi…
And they had the same beer from our keg…
So sushi it was.
I could eat some sushi right now!!!
Group shot of the crew.
I plan on framing this picture…
And sticking it on this wall and see if anyone notices.
Back at the condo it was shot time.
Looks like I did a little too much drinking.
I woke up a little later and played some Hendrix.
Well, it seems the natives are restless…
So we headed out…again.
This time across the street to Guidos Burritos.
Then it was over to the Sandbar for some local entertainment.
Saturday Morning Vinyl.
Lunch was at Fish Tales.
I was late to the game nursing a hangover.
Last night in town and time to go out.
We were headed downtown…
To the Angler to see Phil Knight play guitar.
The Derby was on the TV, so we watched that first.
Then we relaxed and listened to Phil play music.
I ran up to the bridge to get a couple of pictures…
And while I was getting this one…
The bridge went up, so I ran down to get this one.
What a great weekend.
It was getting dark, and we decided to head to the boardwalk.
It was only a short walk…
And we were looking for something to do.
We decided to just go back to the condo and drink, so we caught a cab instead of walking.
Looks like someone is having the leftovers.
It was getting late and while some of us were still drinking…
Others were sleeping.
Of course, it wasn’t long before we were all sleeping. And that was the end of the weekend.
