At 8am in the morning we were waiting for our bus. We tried to get Peter to come with us, but he didn’t want to get out of bed.
The bus arrived shortly after…
And we all boarded to begin our journey.
Only Mike joined us for the trip. We didn’t know anyone else.
8:30 in the morning seems like a good time to start drinking.
Our first stop was Flying Dog.
They have shitty beer laws in Frederick, MD…
And before you can sample any beers you need to take a tour of the brewery.
So we played along…
And took the 35 minute tour.
30 minutes in, and I’m ready for beer.
And I thought the previous years wait of 20 minutes to start drinking was ridiculous.
Funny way of labeling what growlers are in the box.
Back on the bus, and everyone is a little more social.
Stop number 2 was Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn, VA.
Red Bull is suing them because Red Bull thinks you might confuse their swill with this great beer.
You can see how most people would confuse this with an energy drink .
Of the four breweries we visited, this was by far my favorite.
There was a food truck outside for grub…
Plenty of good beer on the inside from which to choose…
And generally just a fun atmosphere.
There were some games and puzzles to keep you entertained in the tasting room.
Stop number 3 was Old Bust Head Brewing in Warrenton, VA.
It seems we live in a country of shitty beer laws.
I got a sampler…
And enjoyed the family type atmosphere in the tasting area.
We left there and headed to…
Brewery number 4, Heritage Brewing Co. in Manassas, VA.
The inside was small…
But they made good beer.
We had a few beers…
And then got back on the bus for the ride home.
Well, that’s all for this year!!!
