I kicked off a great Saturday morning with some Saturday morning vinyl.
Ashley was pitching for the first time, and we stopped out to see her on our way to Harpers Ferry.
We said a quick hello and goodbye to everyone…
And then got on our way.
The drive was just over an hour…
And it was looking like it was going to be a great day.
A map of the area.
We parked in the satellite lot and took the shuttle to the historical area.
There were a few people in town…
And we enjoyed walking around.
We hadn’t had lunch yet…
So we got some food and shared with Riley.
After lunch we walked up through the town.
Stopped at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy…
And then headed out to hike a section of the AT.
It was a short walk to the AT, and then it would be about a half mile back to town.
The trail was marked with these white blazers.
The leaves were changing color, and it made for a great walk.
Riley was getting tired from all the walking, and Kelli carried him.
We stopped by a graveyard to get a look at the river.
And it was windy on top of the hill.
I wanted this picture, but with me in it…
And the stranger I handed the camera to had a difficult time framing the shot.
Kelli was getting tired of walking, too (we ran 10 miles earlier in the morning), but was still in good spirits.
We stopped by Jefferson Rock, but I forgot to get a picture of it.
Another stranger having trouble framing the shot.
The last leg of our journey was on a more paved section of trail.
Riley, always on the lookout for cats.
Some history about the town if you are interested.
When we got back to the car, Riley was ready to take a nap.
We stopped in Frederick, MD on the way home. BTW, that is the sweatshirt I bought her on the Seattle trip.
There was a cool record store in town, so I bought this for $4.
We then headed over to Brewer’s Alley.
They have an outdoor Puppy Patio…
So we sat outside and had some of their brews while Riley made new friends.
Everything was tasty.
When we got home that night, we went to T-Bonz to see Fiction 20 Down play.
The show, as always, was great.
To end the evening, we listen to the original JT…
And I beat Kelli in Connect Four.
Love the photos of you and kel at HF. Wish the one had all you face in it.
