Heading to the beach for the July 4th weekend, and we got a head start on the traffic.
When we got to town it was time to buy some beer…
And I decided on a sampler case from Saranac.
Four beers of each type.
Before I started those, however, Tom brought over some beers to drink.
Eddie, Tom, and I enjoying some beer together.
That night Hurricane Arthur was coming up the coast, but it was going to be about 100 miles offshore.
The next morning Kelli was hanging with her snuggle buddy.
The hurricane had moved up the coast and was about as close as it was going to get to Ocean City.
The sea was angry that day.
You can just make out the sand blowing down the beach in this picture.
There were a few surfers making good of the high surf.
But with the sand blowing and stinging our legs…
We decided to head back inside for some beer.
Cord management.
How I felt that day doing nothing.
This gives you a good idea of how windy it was. Riley wasn’t too happy to be outside.
It wasn’t as windy behind the building.
Tom and I spent the day rating beers.
For an afternoon snack, Tom made these watermelon treats…
And then we took them upstairs to Kim’s place.
She has a great view from her unit.
We left there and headed out for a July 4th dinner at Fish Tales.
I relaxed in the adult area for a short bit…
And then headed over for dinner.
Sunglasses are a must at the beach.
How’s that for some beerporn.
Kelli and I enjoying some alone time at a bar…
Before heading back to the condo for more beer.
That night we went to see DJ Biggler.
Good times were had…
Including a round of shots.
We then headed across the street to see The Phantom Limbs.
Always a good time with good music.
The next day it was time to sit on the beach.
Sexy!!
You wouldn’t have thought the day before there was a hurricane.
I have my umbrella set just right so I can be in the shade.
Check out Tom’s beach beer growler. An inconspicuous method of drinking beer on the beach.
The renters above us in Bill’s unit seem to think over the balcony is a good place for trash.
What kid doesn’t like being buried in the sand at the beach.
That night we headed out for some more live music…
And on the way caught some fireworks.
It was back to the Salty Dog for some Hot Sauce Sandwich.
T-Lutz was there, too.
These guys are great and worth checking out if you get the chance.
The next morning we headed to the boardwalk on our bikes…
But it was too busy, so we headed North and grabbed breakfast.
It wasn’t too bad.
Afterwards we biked back towards our condo and stopped at the newly opened OC Brewing Company.
Plenty of good beers on tap from which to choose.
The place was large, and seemed like it would be good for spending an afternoon drinking.
But we left there and headed to Barn 34 for some live music.
Nate was playing, and we always like to listen to his tunes.
After all that running around, it was time to sit on the beach and do nothing.
Kelli was more than happy to get onboard with that plan.
But in the end we decided that it was getting time to leave…
So we packed up and headed out of town. Of course, nothing like a draw bridge to delay your exit.
