Spring started with a trip to Jailbreak Brewing Company.
They weren’t officially open yet, but we got a behind the scenes tour.
Later that night, it was sushi…
And then bath bomb time.
Kaitlyn Sophia was confirmed at church, and the family was there in support.
Some beerporn from that night.

So we went to Victoria Gastro Pub to finish the evening.

Find Riley.
Hanging out at my brother’s house…
And Amber is afraid of opening the Pillsbury rolls.
There was a different beer event every day for Howard County Beer Week…
And we made sure to hit most of them.
The inconspicuous door on the right…
Led to a duckpin bowling alley.
It was an event for Union Brewing, brewers of Duckpin ale.
Jailbreak isn’t allowed to sell food, so they bring in food trucks. Take that, local laws.
A mouse I caught in my house and released miles away from home.
Peter and Megan were getting their kitchen remodeled…
So I went over to help paint.
I’m an excellent painter.
The mess they lived with while the kitchen was being completed.
The shirt is about 12 years old, and isn’t needed as much now.
Riley decided he was going to take his toy on the walk.
I went to a reunion of my beer judge class and we drank lots of great beers.
It was fun seeing the guys from my class again.
Kelli and I ran two 10K races in one weekend. This was the Saturday run.
It was a Baltimore run, Sole of the City 10k.
After the race we walked over to see Mitch and Cindy on their boat.
The weather was great.
We also met up with Dennis and Kim…
And took the skiff over to Fells Point.

And watched the rain.
He’s a good sleeping buddy when you’re sick.
And sick I was.
Out at a skatepark…
Teaching Ashley how to skateboard.
Over at my brother’s house visiting the family.
Looks like we have bluebird eggs!!!
Visiting Jillian…
And she likes to hang out with Aunt Kel.
Saying goodbye for the night.
Beatrice had finally reached the day of her drivers test.
She was off to take the test…
And passed with flying colors.
I celebrated the event with some beerporn.

This is about as close as they will lay quietly.
Lulu loves me.
Dropping Kelli off for a bachelorette party.
And then I spent the rest of the night waiting for the call to pick her up.
Kelli did a highway cleanup with these members of the Roost.
Then we went to Mother’s in Baltimore for brunch with more Roost members…
Before coming home and relaxing.
Listening to music in the library.
Dinner that night was at Baldwin Station in Sykesville, MD.
A train came by while we were eating.
My brother was in Asia, and we Skyped him while he was there.
The bottle opener in my basement and a night of beerporn.
This dog will sleep anywhere.
First world problems, no gas handle latch.
We scored some tickets to DC101 Kerfuffle in Columbia and had a great time.
The rain was kind enough to miss the event.
Kelli got to meet Elliot in the Morning from DC101.
Kelli and I shared a shadow kiss.
And I ran into old friend, Nate Merke.
SOJA was killer!!!
311’s “Amber” for Amber.
A long day at the show.
Another race, this one a 0.10k.
That was the whole course, out and back.
It was our turn to run and it only took about 1-2 minutes…
Then we watched everyone else run.
Duffman says, have a beer.
Lots of VGP friends were present…
And why not, there was good beer to drink.
So we hung around and had drinks with everyone.
Afterwards we strolled through Fells Point and did some shopping.
Later that day we met up with my mother for Mother’s Day.
Happy Mother’s Day!!!
Still waiting on the bluebird eggs to hatch.
Ashley did really well at softball this year.
She is a good hitter.
Kaitlyn Sophia just likes to watch.
Hope and Riley playing together.
Going for a walk with my brother’s family.
Ashley went for a 3 mile bike ride to Patapsco State Park.
Mother’s day part 2.
Looks like the bluebirds finally hatched.
I like to feed my bluebirds, and I have them well trained to listen for my whistle.
Hanging with some old friends at the VGP.
I love women who love good beer.
Ashley was singing the national anthem at the Orioles game…
So we all made the trip to see her.
Our seats were in left field…
But I got up close to get pictures.
She even made the jumbotron.
The view from our seats.
Check out the moonrise.
Ashley eventually made it back to the seats.
Jillian, I’m not sure that is how you use a swing correctly.
Time for Kaitlyn Sophia to get her ears pierced.
Of course Ashley was mad that she wasn’t getting anything.
Her first body mutilation for the benefit of beauty.
All done.
Where Riley spends most of his days.
Kelli and I went to the soft opening of…
Buffalo Wild Wings.
They have really good onion rings.
I went to see Taylor play lacrosse, and Amber and I hung out on the sidelines.
She mostly wandered around while he played.
Taylor goes for the ball!!!
Mathew is a coach for the team.
Afterwards, I grabbed some beer for back at his house.
Kelli was at Wine in the Woods with Tori from VGP and met up with Doug.
And Amber and I were enjoying some yummy food.
My bluebirds were feeding the babies.
My brother threw the football, and I caught it.
Allagash owner, Rob Tod.
The yearly beer club give away. Kelli won the year before and we went to Lagunitas.
Kristi’s boyfriend Rob wrecked his truck on the Baltimore beltway one night, and I had to go pick him up.
As you can imagine, Jillian beat us every time.
We also had fun doing a puzzle.
Find Kelli.
My mother thought my growing beard reminded her of her father when he was in WWII.
The day before my birthday, and I celebrated at VGP with a great beer.
On my birthday Riley and I went out to my brother’s house for the day.
He wasn’t home, but Erin was and we went for lunch in downtown Sykesville.
There is only one decent bar in town…
So I ordered a beer…
And enjoyed the good company.
I then went with her to pick up the kids from school.
After my brother came home, I headed back to my own house…
So Kelli and I could go out to dinner.
Beerporn with my birthday dinner? Sure!!
Dinner was really good…
And I would recommend Highland Inn to anyone.
Happy Birthday to me!!!
But why stop there, one more beer for the night is needed.
I went to the pool to see Kaitlyn Sophia…
And Ashley at swim practice.
Then we headed to their school for Ashley’s concert.
Somebody didn’t want to be in the picture.
Hamming it up for the camera.
She is a good singer.
After the show I said goodbye for the night.
Check out Kelli’s new hair.
I love sour beer.
Kelli got to go to the Jack Johnson press conference at Merriweather Post Pavilion.
Life is full of so many good choices.

Always practicing…
To become a better hitter.

Taking pictures of the bands I love!!!
It is really a fun job!!!
After the first three songs I have to go back to my seat.
Watching a movie with Kaitlyn Sophia.
Part one of the haircut, getting the top done.
The tarps are laid out in Peter’s backyard below the mulberry tree…
I then hung from the branches and shook the tree until the mulberries fell out.
This is how many I was able to collect in about 2 minutes.
The next night I brewed a beer using the mulberries.
I divided them based on ripeness.
Peter was there to help brew the beer made with his mulberries.
Mmmm, wort.
I boiled the mulberries to kill any bacteria and then mashed them to expose the sugars.
Here they are before I poured the wort over them.
Coming in at 1.070, this should be a heavy beer.
And for the last day of Spring, I hung out with Rob Dinkle. What a great Spring it was!!!!!
