I had to go to Brussels, Belgium for work, so I headed to Dulles Airport…
Hopped in the shuttle…
And got some dinner in the airport terminal.
On the flight over I wached a few movies, including Caddyshack.
My flight left at 5pm and arrived at 7am. I hopped in a cab and headed straight to the hotel.
My room was a decent size…
With a nice bathroom.
I had a balcony…
With a good view.
After a few hours of sleep, I headed over to the convention to pick up my goodies.
The schedule for the next few days.
With time to kill before dinner that night I met with my co-worker Russ and we headed to this bar for some beers.
We were in Belgium…
So it was time for some great Belgium beers.
After the beers we headed back to the hotel to meet up with our customers and take them out to dinner.
The place where we were having dinner was about a 15 minute walk through the city.
It was raining…
But it was worth it when we got to the Grand Plaza. Our dinner was in the Brewer’s House.
Beer was ready as soon as we arrived.
The two beers that were offered that evening.
There was plenty of food for everyone to enjoy.
And after dinner there was dessert, too.
The Port25 Solutions, Inc. crew.
A toast, too our customers!!!
The view from the room.
Aftrer dinner we headed across the plaza for some more drinks.
The scenery was quintessentially old-city Europe.
And of course more beer was needed to go with such a great location.
Here is a panorama of the plaza.
Our last stop for the night was a dimly lit club with highly priced beer.
We wanted some late night eats, but at 3am it was hard to find, even when asking the locals.
The next day I had some time to kill, so I went shopping and bought Kelli this top.
Maaanooooooo.
I stayed on East Coast Time, which is why the next day’s pictures cut right to dinner.
This was a big group outing for many of the conference attendees.
Dinner that night was held at…
The Automobile Museum.
This beauty greeted you as you walked in the door.
There were food stations with various types of eats…
And of course, there was beer.
That is not a cell phone in Russ’ hand…
But rather the self guided audio tour of the museum.
Some of the cars I saw on the tour.
There were really yummy desserts while I was taking the tour.
License plates that are in alphabetical/numerical order.
This racing car was set up so anyone could climb in and take a picture.
An overall view of the museum.
Some of our great business partners.
We left the museum at the end of the event…
And headed back into the old part of the city…
To an absolutely killer bar.
It was in a tight section of the city…
But they had great beers.
This was the upstairs bar…
Which was a great place to get to know people.
Fun with beerporn.
After the first round, we headed downstairs to a larger selection of beers.
I went with a sour beer.
There were so many great beers from which to choose.
Photobombed by a beautiful young woman.
I would highly recommend this bar to anyone in Brussels wanting a great selection of beer.
They even had Flying Dog from Frederick, Maryland.
The downstairs was a lot more fun, I think.
We left the bar and ambled through the streets looking for food.
We finally found a spot that had some late night eats.
Of course, a beer would be good, too.
Mmmm, falafel.
The Port25 representatives.
After dinner we grabbed an Uber car…
And headed home for the night.
Well that’s all for this trip. How about an airport vending machine Belgium waffle to hold you over until next time?
