Kelli and I took a weekend in PA for what we called a “brewcation”. Essentially, brewery hopping, so this is the hotel we booked the first night.
From there we headed to Victory brewing.
The place was really big inside, and that guy in orange came over to hit on Kelli.
Of course, we were there for the beer.
I liked the top of a brew kettle for the top of this table.
The restaurant was full.
The beers they had on tap…
And the taps.
I really liked the beer, but the food wasn’t that good.
One of my beers, the HopDevil Ale.
The french fries I had.
They screwed up our order and to say I’m sorry gave us a growler of their beer and two glasses.
The hotels we were staying in allowed dogs, so we took Riley with us.
You know how it goes with those two.
This was our room the first night.
We kinda junked it up, but you get the point.
Squirrel hunting.
Our next stop was Lancaster Brewing Company.
Here are their selections of beer.
Some reading for you.
We made sure that everywhere we went was someplace that brewed onsite. None of these “we brew it elsewhere” stuff.
The bar wasn’t too full, but they had just opened for the day.
The merch for sale.
Kelli always goes hoppy, I like to mix it up. (I think this one was the amber).
Riley was with us, and for 60 minutes sat quietly under the bar.
He was happy to be out of the bag for the next part of the journey.
Our next stop was Hershey, PA.
This time we had a one bedroom suite.
We like the extra room so Kelli can do her own thing in the morning while I sleep.
We gave Riley some food…
And then headed to Troegs Brewery.
One of Kelli’s favorites, Nugget Nectar.
This place was setup for making money.
Lots of beers from which to choose.
So we had a couple.
Someone near us got a sampler, so I took a picture.
The beers that were on tap.
This pretzel was really good!!
We met a new friend, John, at Lancaster Brewing, and found him again here.
Self guided tour, sure!!!
We were having a good time with all our new friends.
The tour was a walk-through experience with facts about the brewing process posted on the walls.
All our new friends!!
I took a picture of Kelli and me…
And then had one taken for us.
The tour ended in the store, of course (I told you they were setup to make money).
We put our black pin in Ocean City, MD as the Batlimore area was a little too tight.
By this point, I was hammered.
I really don’t remember taking these pictures.
Good thing we took a cab to the brewery!!!
It was time to walk Riley when we got back.
Last day and our first stop was Appalachian Brewing.
The place was really big.
The beers on tap.
I had the Celtic Knot Irish Red.
The soup was cold, but the tuna was good.
Kelli showing where I scraped my hand when I fell while walking the dog the night before. Good times.
The service wasn’t so good, but she did tell us about another place called Al’s we should check out.
So we left Appalachian Brewing…
And headed to Al’s.
Turns out it was the wrong Al’s.
So after leaving the wrong Al’s (after having a beer)…
We made it to the right Al’s.
Lots of beers from which to choose, with his own home brew mixed in.
So there it ended, at Pizza Boy Brewing (the right Al’s). After that, it was a 2 hour drive home.
