The wedding for Bridey and Chris took place at the Kahua Ranch on the side of the volcano.
You could make out our resort just above the tree line in the center.
There was some pre-ceremony music…
to entertain the guests…
But it didn’t take long to get things started.
Chris waited…
While the rest of the party got ready to make their entrance.
A unique choice of outfit for the groomsmen.
Laying down the flower petals…
And making way for…
Bridey to make her entrance!!!
The back of dress shot.
The wedding party was really large, but Bridey has a lot of brothers and sisters.
The wedding was very short.
Exchanging the rings.
You may kiss the bride!!!!
The whole ceremony only lasted about 10 minutes.
The wedding party stayed behind for pictures.
And as we headed to the reception, we noticed the women were all in bare feet.
The reception was a short walk up the hill.
It was a ranch that had been transformed into an oasis.
We headed right for the drinks.
The hors d’oeuvres we really good. I loved the tuna!!!
Stuffed mushrooms.
Some sort of seafood.
The beer on tap was from Hawaii Nui Brewing Company.
The landscape was iconic of Hawaii…
And the kids loved playing with the horses.
Back inside Kelli and I had found our dinner table.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Owens!!!
The standard fare of first dance…
And dance with the mother followed.
Then Bridey’s mother did a Hula dance for everyone.
As did some of Bridey’s bridesmaids.
Speeches were made.
And then Chris’ brother gave a really long speech…
That was nothing more than a “gotcha” ruse.
Apparently, it works like this…If you are given a Smirnoff Ice…
You must drop to one knee and drink the whole thing right away.
Food was beginning to be served…
And in-between courses I grabbed a picture of Chris with his dad.
The food was good.
Bridey made her rounds…
And Kelli and I each got our picture with her.
The sun was starting to set…
So I grabbed a good picture of Kelli and me.
Check out the reflection of the sun in the wine glass.
I made sure to get one of Bridey and Chris, too!!!
It’s the dish of fish.
After dinner it was Bridey’s turn to hula.
The on-tap beers.
Another dish being served that night.
Lovers!!!
I wanted to see the room in which Bridey got ready for the wedding…
So we walked down to the house and took a tour.
I/m not sure who was using what room…
But the house was nice and could easily facilitate wedding preparations.
Here’s the group that went down to the house.
Like any wedding, with alcohol and music comes dancing.
I didn’t know they still made calculator watches.
How the barn was turned into a dance hall.
Bridey and her mom being photobombed by her sister Joy.
With things being quiet out in the main area, I took the time to grab some shots.
Bridey did a great job of planning the wedding…
And transforming the ranch into a beautiful wedding environment.
Lots of sweets for everyone!!!
Girls love to dance!!
Well, that was it for the night. We went back to the hotel and got kicked out of the hot tub not too long after for being too loud.
