We arrived for a long day of partying for Virgin Mobile FreeFest being held August 30, 2009 at Merriweather Post Pavilion.
The day started with seeing The Birthday Massacre.
They were very energetic…..
With lots of on stage jumping.
They played for about 45 minutes….
The drunken debacle known as Virgin Mobile FreeFest. Click here for those pictures.
There were plenty of odd things to see….
And plenty of drinks to be drank.
The list of bands, for those interested.
Next, we saw Wale.
They were just OK with a lot of “raise your hands up” kinda stuff.
Look at that cock.
After already standing for about 4 hours, we decided to take a rest…..
Kelli ran into one of her old roommates from college, Rusty.
And enjoy the view.
We then headed out to the main stage to catch some of Jet, who came on at 4:20.
The lawn was full of people doing the same thing.
If you didn’t get to go to the show, you can see what you missed here.
So we asked him to pose for a few shots.
With drinking comes people doing funny things.
And we were really surprised she didn’t get in trouble for this.
By this point, we had been drinking for about 6 hours.
Hoola hoops tend to sell well at these types of shows.
This was going to be a find Kelli shot, but honestly, I can’t find her. (although I think I see Scott)
All of what Mark brought back from his visit to Pizzeria Uno’s for us to eat. Thanks, Mark.
The local news was waiting for something to sensationalize.
I was just waiting for someone to bring me another drink.
Next up was Public Enemy…..
With Flavor Flav and Chuck D.
While we were standing there, OE from The Birthday Massacre walked by….
He ended up hanging out with us for a little while.
Did you have any doubt my brother Mathew was a redneck?
We headed back to the pavillion lawn after Public Enemy…..
To listen to The Bravery.
Proof that even the closest of friends get tired of me taking pictures.
A video suddenly appeared on the big screen…
By this point with the Sun and the drinking, we were all ready to just sit for a while.
A blanket on which Kelli played twister……
That matches a hat I bought to keep from getting sun burned…..
Can you see where Erin’s necklace was all day?
By this point, Kelli was starting to fade.
But Mark was still going strong.
And the parachuter landed on top of the pavillion.
Richard Branson then came out and said a few words to the crowd.
After that, it was time for Weezer!!!!!
That was who most of us came to see.
And they rocked!!!
It was hard to get good shots from the lawn at night…
But I tried.
Well, that’s all. We had a great time!!!!
