Getting ready to head out for yet another guy’s weekend.
We got down to OC on a Thursday night this time.
We were there for the NFL draft.
We brought plenty of reading material.
It was nice to just sit around and relax.
Easy mac and cheese, seriously addictive.
In preperation, Mark downloaded the required maps to my Xbox 360.
Then showed me he was number one at Halo 3.
at almost 2am, we were still going strong…
And at 2:20am we were laying in bed drinking.
The next morning Chris and I got up and started working.
We headed out for some lunch..
And I took them to one of my new favorite places.
The grouper fingers are great,
And they have a veggie burger!!!
They both elected for the rock fish sandwich.
Afterwards, it was back to the condo to finish out the work day. (Yes, we really did work for 8 hours on Friday).
Chris took a picture of me taking that last picture.
Of course, when the work day was done, we could get right to the partying. That was the benefit of coming down on a Thursday night.
We made our mixed drinks look publicly acceptable…
And then headed out to the beach.
You never know what you are going to find on the beach.
Today we found a beach replenishment program….
And a great sunset.
Mark went looking for shells.
And found one to his liking.
He then crossed the fence looking for more.
Meanwhile, I wrote a love letter in the sand.
I’ll revisit this picture in 10-20 years and see if the skyline has changed…
In this direction, too.
The Sun, so small.
It was a weekend of Achievement whoring.
With many achievements being earned.
After all that, it was time for some more drinking.
So we headed to OC Wasbi for some sake…
Pencil fighting….
And of course, sushi.
Man do I love that stuff.
We picked up supplies and headed back to the condo.
Chris brought some cigars along for us to enjoy.
Me being goofy with the camera.
Same picture, from my phone.
Just before midnight, and we decided to just hang at the condo and drink.
Chris was the first to pass out.
The next morning, pass out boy was up first playing some Call of Duty, while Mark and I slept in.
We decided another walk on the beach was in order…
So we headed down to see what was going on.
The beach replenishment was still in progress.
And we just tossed a football around.
Mark contemplates Great White Sharks.
And decides not to go in.
In the process, clams, horse shoe crabs, etc. get chopped up by dredging blades in the bay and spit out over here for the sea gulls to eat.
To replenish the beach, they dredge sand from the bay and pump it over to the ocean.
Back at the condo, it was nap time….
For pass out boy.
Because that’s what the scenery needs.
After nap time, we headed out for the NFL draft.
We were going to Fish Tales for the afternoon.
We got there just after the start.
They have the best fish tacos.
Chris got a girly drink…
While Mark and I did some girly shots.
I was keeping notes in my USA Today the whole time.
The bartenders were switching shifts, and this was our damage in 2 hours time.
The Baltimore Ravens pick was coming up fast…
But I got it all down in my notes.
With the Sun setting, we were getting ready to leave….
But first played the ring game.
Never play Chris at this game.
He got not 1…
Not 2…
but 3 shots…
before I got 1. Mark still had none.
We were playing to 4, as Mark helps to show.
By this point, we had been drinking for about 8-9 hours, so everything seemed funny.
Including trying to get a guy in a car to make our with some chic.
We stumbled into the Salty Dog….
But decided the mood wasn’t right, and Mark plotted us a new course.
Seriously, we were hammered….
And what better place to go when you’re hammered, another bar.
It’s funny the things you find on the walls.
Mark took his spot at the bar.
Close, but no cigar.
While they had drinks…
I took pictures of Coastal Vibrations. Click here for pictures.
Nice caulk job.
After about 12 hours of drinking, I can barely stand, let alone hold the camera steady.
None of us really remember the walk home.
Mostly because this was about as well as we were seeing.
Yup that about sums up the day….
Mark style.
I was tempted to draw a penis on his face, but didn’t want to deal with that wrath in the morning.
As late as it was, Chris and I weren’t done yet.
Although never of us really remembers what we did.
The next morning we got some breakfast…
And then I got some new furniture.
My old chairs had ripped and rusted…
So it was time for some new ones that wouldn’t rust.
On the way out of town to go home, we decided to get some food.
We decided to go with the all you can eat feast.
So with the beer pouring……
And the food hot, it’s time to say goodbye until next time.
