Mike arrived with Kristi to take us to the airport.
They were happy to be leaving the cold for the warmth of FL.
I sat in front of them on the flight out.
No meal, but well branded treats.
In an effort to ignore me, they both found something to do.
Once we arrived at their grandmother’s, we all kicked back and relaxed…..
That is until I dragged them out.
We headed to Mattison’s for a drink.
Mine, Kelli’s, and some raspberry drink for Kristi.
We also had some really good fried artichoke hearts.
Afterwards, being the women that they are, they went shopping….
Being the man that I am, I got them away from shopping, and back to drinking.
Kristi was in heaven!!!!
It was her first time to the Daiquiri Deck, and she had never seen such a wonder.
On the way back, we stopped to get some provisions for the stay.
She did this the whole time…..
Of course, I do the same thing when I’m in control of the cart.
I left the unpacking to the women….
And they left the covering of the plants to me.
You see, it was going to be below freezing, and Scotty wanted to protect her plants.
The next morning we just laid around for a while.
Kelli painted her grandmother’s nails…..
And I painted a mark on Kelli’s neck.
Kelli was so thankful for her hickey, that she made me breakfast.
Not wanting to sit around any longer, I forced Kristi into getting showered and dressed for a day on the town.
We spent the whole day shopping (while Kelli stayed with her grandmother).
I forgot to take pictures of us shopping (she bought herself a size 4 dress)….
But here are the pictures of what we did after the shopping.
In vino veritas.
Later that night we took Scotty out to dinner at Phillippi Creek Restaurant.
Honestly, I think we have enoughofthese.
Kristi didn’t want her picture taken the next morning, and this turned out kinda funny with the picture on the magazine.
We went out and bought donuts….
Which Kristi was happy to enjoy……
While watching some TV.
Of course, when she got up, Kelli stole her seat.
Where there is a sale, there are women, so to Beall’s we went.
No need for a bowl, Kristi just eats the ice cream in chunks.
I bought Kelli a new nail polish, which Kristi was happy to try.
Once or twice a day she would play E.T. and phone home.
Michelle, a long time friend of Kelli’s, came by to hang out with us.
We hopped in her mini-van and headed to….
Downtown Sarasota.
Mattison’s was our first stop…..
Where I thought Kelli was looking great!!!!!
From there we went looking for a new place to drink.
We didn’t like the cover charge at a bar in St Armands, so we didn’t stay there.
On the way back we saw the statue, “Unconditional Surrender” by Seward Johnson.
Here is another picture with Kristi for perspective.
Where Kristi said she wanted to take a picture of us…..
And I returned the favor.
We happened to see this Seinfeld episode that day, so we all thought it to be funny.
The women could NOT stop raving about how good the mozzarella sticks were there!!!!!
We made our way to the Sarasota Brewing Company….
The next day, is was back to being bums.
Michelle came by and took us out for a little while…
And when we got back, Kristi and I made brownies.
I must say, Kristi does make a really good brownie.
Afterwards, we went back to St Armands to walk around.
It is a nice little touristy shopping area…
And Kristi and Kelli love to shop!!!
Me, I love to drink…..
So we stopped at the Columbia Restaurant…..
For some fresh Sangria!!!
Seems like I’m not the only one who loves drinking.
We left there and went to Cha Cha Coconuts where Kristi found her all-time favorite drink…
The Lava Flow (she said it tastes like Hawaii).
Kelli and I got a nasty drink that tasted like chloraseptic….
So we sent them back….
And joined Kristi in drinking the Lava Flow.
She thought it was funny that every table had hand sanitizer.
We went back to Scotty’s and got ready for going out that night.
There is the size 4 dress she bought.
We went to Michael’s on East for dinner.
It was just the three of us…..
But I didn’t mind.
Kelli got lobster….
So Kristi did, too.
Kristi ended up knocking her wine glass all over me trying to crack open her’s.
There was a piano bar in the restaurant…..
So after dinner we sat down for some music.
The music was good, and the company was better!!!
The next day we all headed to The Villages in Lady Lake, FL.
Kelli and Kristi’s Aunt Ellen and Uncle Ted winter their retirement in the community.
Uncle Ted stayed with his mother while the rest of us went out for lunch.
Of course lunch included some drinks.
It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside.
Blackened grouper.
The entire community is golf cart accessible…
So most people in the community drive their golf carts around instead of their cars.
As for us, we just walked.
Fishing in the lake is catch and release.
Some people really go overboard with the golf carts.
And of course there is a golf cart dealer in town.
In case you were wondering what a high end one cost.
In the pet store, Kristi thought the cat was cute.
There were two shopping areas, so we left the first, and went to the second.
The sense of humor in the retirement community.
Find Kelli.
With no one working, they have clubs for everything.
Really, this place was a little surreal.
We got back to the house, and Uncle Ted was making pizza!!!
Kelli, reading the weekly newsletter with all the community events.
Not his famous home-made pizza, but good nonetheless.
Who would I be if I didn’t ask to take his personalized golf cart out for a spin?
Kristi took a turn at driving, too.
It was getting late, and the grammys were on that night, so we decided to head home.
They couldn’t stop fighting over who got the good seat, so this is how they ended up watching the grammys.
We left for home the next morning, and Scotty was sad to see us go.
Michelle drove us to the airport…
Where Kristi and I passed the time playing Animal Crossing.
On the way home, I was behind them instead of in front of them….
But I had a window seat….
And they had each other, so it was OK.
Kelli, happy to be almost home, and Kristi, knowing the quiet break from being a mom was soon to end.
That’s all for now, hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as we enjoyed making them!!!!
