The fourth of July weekend started with a trip to the National Zoo.
Which required a ride on the DC Metro….
And happened to be Ashley’s first public transportation experience.
She seemed to like it..
But this is the reason we made the trip.
I love the info they give….
But what Corvette only goes 30 mph?
The Pandas are always a good sight….
And who could forget the elephants??
They don’t forget, that’s for sure.
How a two year old eats pop-corn.
The giraffe was out…..
And Mike went over to pet him.
A busy bee.
Remember the game hungry-hungry-hippos?
Hey man, pass the vomitweed, I’m not high enought to vomit yet.
A gorilla in the shade….
Being watched by two monkeys.
An orangutan, we’ll see him again shortly.
Kristi and Ashley enjoy a much needed cool down.
One inch of glass between him and the crowd.
Nothin’ else to do but lay around.
So I went into the reptile house….
And was checking out the various critters….
And as I approached the exit…..
There seemed to be a commotion outside.
It seems that Ashley had succumbed to the heat.
Everyone went into a panic….
And as you can see, she wasn’t doing well….
Meanwhile, the orangutan decided it would be a good time to cross from one end of the Zoo to the other.
Back outside the reptile house, the police arrived by bike….
And then by car.
After a short time, she was starting to look better.
Thanks to Carol Cardini, a cardiologist who happened to be walking by and stopped to help.
So we rode in the police car…..
Down to the nurses’ station….
And it wasn’t long before she was good as new.
A little too late for this help.
We were given an escort to the front gate….
And headed down the street to get some food to eat.
The ride home found these two too worn out to stay awake.
The reason Kelli wasn’t there is she was spending time in Chicago with her freind Nicole.
Nicole’s pussy….cat.
For our July 4th Pictures click here. Some art thing in Chicago.
Find Kelli. (hint, she’s in the same spot as last picture)
This…..
Is just weird.
A food event she went to.
or a night of salsa!!!
Back on the home front, Mark and I were celebrating his birthday with some dominos.
For the fourth, we headed over to my Mum-in-law’s for some family fun.
Everyone wanted to hold the baby.
Ashley was enjoying being in the water….
And Megan was more than happy to help her through.
Doesn’t she look like she’s having fun?
The adults did a water balloon toss…
And while we got kinda far….
It wasn’t long before someone’s balloon (the one Kelli threw) hit the ground.
A goofy pic of Kelli and Ashley.
From Kelli’s mom’s house, we headed to my brother’s house.
While these clowns laid on the blanket….
My brother lit off some fireworks.
Check out the moon in the background.
In case you’re wondering, 1600 ISO, f/14, 13s.
I really need to get that wide angle lens.
This is one of my favorites.
As well as this one.
The fireworks in the bottom left are Mathew’s neighbor….
He was lighting a lot off, too.
Everyone had a great time.
For the grand finale….
Mathew brought out the big guns.
They were super cool!!!!!
Kelli scored some fresh eggs from my brother’s neighbor.Well that’s all, hope you had as much fun as we did!!!!!
