Arriving at L’Auberge Provencale Bed and Breakfast to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary…..
And we were very pleased with the room.
We headed over to Pargo’s for a drink before dinner.
Mudge was sitting next to us, and we helped her get the high score for that round.
Dinner that night was at the B and B…..
And the food was great!!!!
Nice touch!!!!
The towel was supposed to cover her so you didn’t know she had a bra on…..oh well.
We were staying in the heart of Virginia wine country…..
And what better way to spend the day than drinking wine.
Geeee, where do you think we should go after leaving the first winery??
So Oasis was #2 for the day.
Virginia has some great views in the mountains.
Oasis was going pro with the party setup. Anyone looking for a place to get married?
When I asked why the dogwood was on the label, she told me it’s because that is the Virginia state flower.
So, leaving Oasis, where do you think we went next?
Yup, Stillhouse, #3 for the day.
Kelli had never seen cows in a pond before, so I took a picture.
Stillhouse sucked, don’t go.
#4 was a revisit from last year, Naked Mountain.
Correcting their incorrect sign.
They were busy, but we knew from the previous year which wine we wanted…..
So while we watched the hummingbird hum….
We laughed at all the bums.
Our next stop for the day was a little horseback riding.
Not bad to have to look at this sight the entire time.
The picture behind me was good, too.
While we rode, she told me how she likes to ride bare back….
I couldn’t believe she was telling me this in front of Kelli….
And just when I thought things were going to get interesting…..
We met up with the rest of our group. (Did I mention we were late and had to catch up?)
It was hard to take pictures of Kelli while she was behind me….
And after meeting with the rest of the group, there was a new order to things….
And this chic never said one word to me.
Oh well, at least the first half was nice.
When we got back to the ranch, Kelli climbed down from her high horse…..
And we left the ranch in search of more wine.
We didn’t have to go far to find bad wine…
So we left #5, and went on to #6….more bad wine.
#7 held more promise, but something was amiss….
The inside was quaint and cozy…..
But no one was home. Oh well too bad for them not to meet us.
We passed on Skyline drive and the $10 entrance fee….
So that we could go see a national historic landmark.
OK, their $19 per person entrance fee to see a glorified hole in the ground is not what we were looking for that afternoon…..
So with the sun setting…..
We decided to go get dinner.
Stop looking down her shirt.
This was Violino Ristorante Italiano in Winchester, VA, and I highly recommend it.
The owner and his daughter came out and sang an anniversary song to us!!!!
Just in case you go looking for it, this is what it looks like.
Kelli wanted to model her new PJs…..
So I caught her in the bedtime action pose.
The next morning, she caught me in the too-lazy-too-get-out-of-bed pose.
Ah, L’Auberge Provencale, we shall miss you, but not your high prices.
Our first winery for the day, Three Foxes.
They were good, but we needed more wine, so it was on to #2.
OK, #2 sucked, so we moved on to #3.
They had a koi pond, and I used the polarized lens of my sunglasses to catch the koi in action.
We liked some of the wine, but it was time to move on to #4 for the day.
On the roof, they were working on their Vin de Sol wine.
Brian was more than happy to give us a personalized tour of the winery.
He took us into the cellar…..
And poured us wine from the tanks!!!!!
Does this kick ass or what?!?!?!?
He then told us about the various wines and how they make them.
Of course, we had to buy a bottle or two and hang out for a while.
Brian joined us in the hot afternoon sun for a drink.
We also met this couple, and while we were talking with them…..
Chris Pearmund, owner and winemaker, and his wife came over and hung out with us for a while.
We were going to do more wineries, but we loved it there so much we blew off the day until we needed to head over to the next B and B.
The place was a mess when we got there…..
The owners family had a big party at the house that weekend, and personally I don’t think she should have let us make a reservation.
We went out back for a while and looked at the horses next door….
But after getting bored with that, we headed out for some food.
I was going to take a picture of the mac and cheese, but Kelli really liked it.
A little note about the Briar Patch B and B….
And after reading that, I wasn’t sure if I wanted breakfast.
We were supposed to stay two nights, but blew off the second (on the day of our anniversary no less) and headed home.

For our big finale on our big day….
We treated ourselves to one of our favorite restaurants….
Tersiguels!!!!!
The food is always good…..
And what better way to end our celebration!!!!
