Kicking off an extended July 4th weekend, Mark came over to hang out.
We decided it would be a good time to head out for a drink….
And Bare Bones bartender Fred was more than happy to serve us.
From there, we headed over to the Stone Cellar to see Brian Jack of “Child’s Play” fame.
Brian was without a PA that night, so he played to us at our table…..
But it was too noisy, so he took us to a quieter place….
The bathroom.
He then proceded to sing several of the well known Child’s Play songs…..
And I sang right along with him.
Kelli recalled earlier that she kissed him about 15 years ago.
It wasn’t until we left that I realized we were in the ladies bathroom.
With no more music to listen to……
It was back to the house where Mark could pass out.
The next day had Kelli and I cooking flounder on the grill….
And Mark and I playing Xbox.
Chuck stopped by too.
Can you tell what Kel likes about the motorcycle?
July 2nd, Saturday morning, and we’re heading for the beach.
We stopped by Dogfish Head for some food….
Some beer….
And some dirty looks.
Leaving the brew pub, it was time to go to….
Another bar.
Dogfish ale…in a bigger glass.
Mmmmm beer.
We were wondering if they were real or fake, so I took a picture and zoomed in….inconclusive data…..
So we drank more beer….
And ate more food.
Outside, I forgot to pay the meter…
$20, mano.
We then went over to John Sybert’s house for a party with some of the G-13 guys.
The lights were setup for a great party atmosphere.
Mark and Kelli sat on the cot most of the night.
See, still sitting on the cot.
Skip’s Birthday was the week before, so someone got him a cake….
Although Jason kept him from eating it too.
John plays the part of the rock star….
While Jason and Scrow do the real work.
John, amazed by the new “cell phone” technology.
Always time for me to get in a shot or two.
Jason getting a little advice on what NOT to drink.
Later that night, it was back to OC for sleeping.
You always seem to lose these things before you get a chance to use them.
Leaving the next morning, and I picked up a hitchhiker.
We decided that because it was Mark’s birthday, we should have a beer in OC.
Macky’s has a great bayside view, so we found a great place to sit and enjoyed the view.
I guess we happened to be wearing the right colors.
Leaving town was easy, but going into town, “got more cars then a beach got sand”.
Always so sad to leave the beach.
Would Kelli be Kelli if she didn’t have a card for Mark’s birthday?
We had to come home because Kelli’s mother was hosting the family reunion that day.
It was crabs and beer for everyone.
Kristi is always skeptical of my picture taking.
Cousin Sheryl being a clean-up helper.
Check out what she got for her job at FSU.
I tried to get everyone together for a group shot….
But Uncle Ted was missing.
After he joined the shot, we were all in for the picture.
I then proceded to get a few family shots.
Pete has a monkey on his back.
Cousin Sheryl, Kelli, and Megan do some exercises.
More family shots….
And a few more….
It seems everyone wanted “their” picture….
So I grouped everyone by family….
And snapped away.
Funny thing is, I forgot to get one of Kelli and I.
As the family stuff was winding down….
And the older crowd was getting cranky….
The younger group decided to go out drinking.
We took everyone down to the pub for a few drinks.
Definitely a good idea.
Peter took that last picture for us.
Hey look, Sheryl has had too much to drink.
Well, maybe not yet, she can still give a thumbs up.
Hey, so can I.
We went to my brother’s house, where he was putting on a fireworks display for the neighbors.
Mathew tries to make a quick getaway after lighting the fireworks….
But I brought him back for a quick picture.
He had a few bigger ones too.
Fireworks and beer, a government recommended pairing.
Hey look, Cousin Sheryl is still hammered.
Although she did finally pass out.
We were hosting the Jacobs family for the reunion, and they left the morning of the fourth.
Don’t come back soon!!!
Kelli and I then packed up and headed into DC for the day.
We took the metro in to avoid the traffic…
And made our way down to The Mall. Heading into DC on the fourth of July to see G-13, and lots of people were on hand to see the fireworks.
The security to get onto The Mall wasn’t that bad…. Arriving at the entry to the “secure” area, and only had to wait a few minutes to get into the Smoke-In.
And we were there to see G-13 play. I found John hanging out by the sound board….
They were playing in a small section of The Mall in the shadow of the Lincoln Memorial.
The man who brings you the pictures of the band you love.
The sun finally set, the guys stopped playing, and it was time for….
The fireworks!!!!
These were some of the best fireworks I’d ever seen.
Well, I hope your 4th of July was as fun as ours!!!!
