On our way out to NJ, we found a winery……
So we had to stop and sample the goods at Heritage Vineyards.
We arrived at the Country Inn, and the accomodations looked nice…
And Kelli decided to head down to the pool for a little while.
We were actually in Millville, NJ, and Kelli had to work part of the weekend….
But I went along for the fun of it.
While she worked that night….
I went to the local brew pub where the locals bought me a few drinks.
Some of the Mill-Billies as they call themselves.
A really good band called the Danny Eyer Band. These guys rocked!!!!
While she worked the next day, I went for a drive. Henderson wetsuits are based in Millville.
Once she was done working, we could start having some fun.
Bellview’s wines were good, but not quite what we were looking for that day.
Balic Winery was really bad….
Being on the way to Atlantic City, they catered to old people in buses who knew nothing about wine. Stay away from this one.
Cape May Winery is one of two wineries in Cape May.
Their wines were worth trying, but once again, not what we were looking for that day.
Turdo Vineyards was just the solution for our wine blues.
Ah yes, THIS is what I was looking for!!!!!
So we bought a bottle to have with dinner.
First however, we had to hit dinner with the car.
Arriving at our wonderful accomodations in Cape May, NJ, The Henry Sawyer Inn.
It was a lovely little B&B.
Kelli was ready for dinner….
So I took a quick picture of us….
In our quaint little room….
Then headed over to The Copper Fish Restaurant for dinner.
It was BYOB, so we brought our wine from the winery.
The food was REALLY good!!!!!
The next day before leaving, we decided to check out the main area of Cape May….
Well, there wasn’t anything cool or fun, so we left.
To get home, as you may have guessed from the previous picture, we had to take a ferry across the Delaware Bay.
So we loaded up the car….
Wandered about the ferry….
And enjoyed the 90 minute ride.
Arriving in Delaware, we needed to wet our whistle. Lucky for us Dogfish Head Brewery was right there in Rehoboth Beach.
There were lots of really good beers on tap.
The food alone was worth the trip. (so was the beer for that matter)
This is where they brew the beer upstairs.
Find Kelli.
Beer, taking its toll.
Afterwards, we went and sat on the Atlantic Ocean.
The boardwalk was crowded….
And the beach was even worse.
Sand was being pumped in from the ocean….
But that was because the beach was being rebuilt.
And it just wasn’t our scene, so we called an end to weekend and went home.
