Kelli and I started Spring with a trip to Baltimore to meet some friends…..
Then headed to my brother’s house for the entertainment.
Mmmmm, grease flame-up.
Mark was on hand to enjoy the fun.
In a tradition started the year earlier….
Kelli and Erin dyed eggs together.
OK, we made it to the beach, who needs a drink?
Ahhhh, much better.
All three of us get ready to head out for the night.
We headed across the street to the Sandbar.
G-13 was playing!!!!
Of course, we knew that, that’s why we made a late night run to the beach.
Between sets, we hung out backstage with everyone….
But it was quickly time to get back to the music.
There’s nothing as good as seeing a great band play live!!!
I made sure to sign their guestbook.
Kelli and Mark sat and waited for me to “pull the plug” after the show.
So I took a few more shots…..
Checked out the remaining crowd….
Posed for a shot….
Then headed back to the condo for the night.
Seeing it was the middle of the week, we got up and headed home early in the morning.
On our way to Philly, we got stuck in traffic.
Somehow the trash in this truck caught on fire.
But we made it past the traffic, and continued to go see the Dali exhibit.
The exhibit was at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Unfortunately, there were no cameras allowed in the exhibit….
So I have no Dali shots to share.
Notice the markings on the steps. More on those in a minute.
First, a picture of my lovely wife!!!!
This is what those markings looked like when viewed from the correct angle.
This is one of those “immature” things Kelli has accused me of doing.
We walked back to the hotel from the museum…
So we could get a better feel for the city.
Now that is punny.
The area of the city we were in was nice, but not much was going on in March.
This was the room we stayed at that night.
It had a nice view and…..
Was across from the farmers market….
Which was next to a brew pub!!!!
Enjoying a pint with the locals.
Back in the room before dinner, and Kelli was being a little goofy.
Dinner was at a hip club with great food!!!
Sunday morning, Easter actually, and we enjoyed breakfast at a diner in the city of brotherly love.
Where else would you have gone on a day when everything is closed?
When I got home, Kelli had a basket of goodies waiting for me!!!!
Hanging out before band practice one night.
Brian and Kelli played Super Monkey Ball while we played music.
Out for a drive, and I had to pull over and remove this cone from under my car.
I’d like a pair of red maracas.
Back in OC, and the rain was really coming down.
We headed up to Bethany Beach in Delaware to meet up with….
John Sybert….a slow drinker.
Another one of those “immature” things.
We headed back to John’s house to hang out for a while.
The upcomming G-13 logo designed by John.
Playing with the shutter speed on the camera, I got a little double exposure.
For a movie of John playing air guitar, click here.
Later that night, we went out to a house party.
John shows off his air guitar moves for Jason.
Skip had to step in and say, “no more air guitar, dude.”
Scarecrow and Jason played a little guitar together.
It was pretty cool to listen to them play.
Hear them play.
I wrote Kelli a little love note at breakfast the next morning…
Then we hit the boards and checked out the surf.
Peppers tavern for a drink, sure!!!!
It turned out that Pompous Pie was playing.
That’s T’s (of G-13 fame) other band.
And let me just say, he is top nacho.
Afterwards, Kelli and I went for a walk on the beach.
It was a little cold…..
So we hurried along.
I love this picture of her.
Funny story…..
I decided I was going to go out and stand on the rocks…..
You know, to make for a great picture.
When I wasn’t looking, a big wave came behind me….
And needless to say, I got wet.
I was saying something like, “^%$#@ ()*# #%$# ^$)_$*”
I had to change as the cold water, wind, and air were chilling me to the core.
We headed over to West Ocean City for some food.
Mmmmmm, crab legs.
In Nashua for work, and I’m looking at the odd tail these guys seems to have grown.
We piled 6 people into a 4 seater….
And headed over to the local cue club.
Cool guys got to sit on the ends.
This is why John did not get to sit on the end.
Doug, what is that you have??
Words cannot describe my boss.
What we do during late night company functions.
Only the best for SkillSoft employees.
So there is no question as to who the late night crowd is.
Too lazy to flush.
Don’t pass out early.
Home from work, and it’s time for another G-13 show.
Tequila goes with anything!!!
Sonny makes sure everything is in order.
And John tells me to stay away.
Rain on the scarecrow blood on the plow.
The set list looks to be in good order….
So it’s time to jam.
While they all played….
Scott and Kelli enjoyed the sound.
Jason’s shadow.
T couldn’t make it that night, but that didn’t keep them from sounding great!!!!
I just want to bang on the drums all day.
After the show, they broke everything down and headed home.
The bar was well packed.
Looks like someone got to the cigarette machine.
This was playing on the TV.
We hit it just right….
You can almost smell them.
While I make for the Kodak moment.
A day in DC for the cherry blossom festival.
There weren’t too many people….
And the colors were in full bloom.
Who is this sexy guy???
Kelli checks out the ducks….
If you look closely, you can just make out the horseshoe.
It was still a little cold outside…
But the trees were just starting to get green.
I won’t have to wear the hat for too much longer.
A reminder of Chauncey.
Jason and John pause for a picture in front before we go inside.
Kelli and I went to the University of Maryland….
To hear Coach Friedgen speak about the football team.
Drinks and food were served afterwards.
Why is Kelli sooo excited?
Her American Idol gets her that way.
In our birdbox, we have 7 carolina chickadees.
The mother waits while I took the pictures.
Stopping in Easton on the way to Ocean City.
We had a quick bite to eat before moving on our way.
Check out our new shower curtain. Very beach-y.
Hanging out with Brian one night….
And we went to his house to hang for a little while.
Brian was busy painting the baby’s room.
Kelli and I took a day to go to St. Michaels for their food and wine festival.
Pink champagne on ice.
Wine wasn’t the only thing being served!!!
Hello Jack Daniel’s…..
And hello to his great-great niece, Lynne Tolley.
Mike and Dena were there as well.
The top of a tequila bottle, of course.
Ex-coworker John Booth was selling goods at the event, so I stopped by and said hello.
We all headed to the downtown area for some lunch.
At the restaurant, near the ATM, I saw something odd.
A duck had made a nest behind the crab pots.
For those of you from out of town.
Here I am being “immature” again.
When we came back out, I showed Kelli, Mike, and Dena the duck eggs.
Dig that hair line.
A short lived quest to get my grandfather on the internet.
The eggs had hatched, and we now had 7 baby birds in our backyard.
The mother goes in to feed the young.
Something about that license plate seems familiar to me.
5-5-05, as in Cinco de Mayo.
Kelli took me to a Guinness event….
They served all the guinness you could drink for free!!!
We then headed over to Georgetown to see Mike Gordan sing.
The Mike Gordan fan club.
I hear it’s the grand wizard of all beers.
A moment of reflection.
Kelli donated all of Chauncey’s ferret stuff to a ferret rescue.
They had lots of ferrets there for adoption.
Rocky’s Ferret’s was located in a very peaceful area.
On our way home, we stopped by a local Maryland winery.
Later that night, we went to a gala for the University of Maryland football team.
It was a silent and live auction to benefit the team.
I asked Kelli if she’d give me a hummer for the weekend, and she said no man could have a hummer for that long.
Her husband thought it would be funny to tag his wife, but with her consent, I outbid him!!!! (shortly thereafter both stickers were removed by an angry husband)
My old friend, Coach Friedgen.
After the silent auction, it was time for dinner and the live auction.
We sat with the Kings….
Who had each gotten a little something during the silent auction.
Kelli, the best looking gal at the gala.
The action didn’t stop for the Kings at the live auction……
As they racked up another win!!!
With Kelli’s mother on Mother’s Day. (what’s up with the similar smile?)
Then it was over to my mother’s for some more family time.
For all of you parents that like to show me 30 pictures of your brat eating ice cream, look at this!!!
My mother being a good mom on Mother’s Day by attending to her children.
Well that’s all for part one. Stay tuned for Part 2, coming to a website near you.
