Kelli giggles while I try to get off my first shot of the trip.
She was laughing because it took me a few tries to get myself into the picture.
Later in our hotel, I got her back for laughing.
Yes, my pictures ARE funny.
Fort Myers, FL, the home of Edison.
But I choose to see other sights.
The bar at the hotel was a great spot.
When Kelli was done working in Fort Myers, I rented this car for the rest of our trip in Sarasota.
Seeing she wasn’t done yet, I made use of the last few hours of her working by cruising Main Street.
The Edison Theater (1920), opened by John Hendry whose first theater started in 1908.
Done with work, it was time to cruise.
We’re actually parked, and she’s using a hair dryer.
Driving through Punta Gorda, FL, and you can still see signs of the hurricanes. That was a light post.
No hurricanes today, just sunny weather!!
A local business in the really bad red light section of Sarasota.
Hanging with the Shriners for a pancake breakfast….
Then it was outside to give blood.
Kelli wasn’t so sure about giving, but….
I was more than happy.
Does this make you queasy?
Her blood moves very slowly, and it took her about 20 min to give a pint of blood.
Back at her grandmother’s house, and I was put to work replacing a microwave.
90 min and 9 beers later, all done!!!!
Kelli was busy doing other things while I worked.
Dinner that night at Phillippi Creek Restaurant. Yes, we are dorks.
Kelli’s grandmother, always soooo happy.
Maybe she just needs me in the shot.
While I napped, they caught up on their soap operas (bleah!!!!).
A day at the beach and I could only find this broken sand dollar while snorkeling.
Local artist Gary Ritzenhein paints the beach.
Whatever could he be painting?
I called kelli back out of the water to have a look at the painting….
But she was uninterested.
What’s a guy to do?
Turns out Gary the painter was interested, and painted us into the picture. Can you see Kelli and me? (use Kelli in the background as a reference)
Here is the whole painting. He wanted $1,600 for it, in case you were wondering.
Having finished our beach scene modeling gig, it was time to pig out.
Daiquiri Deck, the place to have a daiquiri in Siesta Key.
We had the Bushwacker with a banana, better known as a “Banana in the Bush”.
This looks familiar
This is Larry, and I owe Larry a beer on my next visit to Sarasota. (Colts beat the Vikings on MNF)
Our favorite dive in Sarasota, Saulina’s Pizza.
On our way back to the airport, and more destruction from the hurricanes.
How to have fun in a rental.
We stopped by Erin Habicht’s father’s house on the way back.
Erin was in town visiting…..
And it was fun to see everyone.
Well, that’s all for now, and it looks like Kelli and I are going to have an easy flight home.
