A day of trains, planes, and automobiles. My journey to CA starts with the train to DC.
After hooking up with Kelli in DC, we went to Dulles airport.
She always has something to read with her.
Finally in CA, and Kelli is happy to see Delcie.
The next day, Kelli and I took a trip out to Temecula for some wine tasting.
Out first winery, Hart, and we didn’t like their wines too much.
As always, I had it made in the shade.
Our second winery, and our most favorite, Thornton.
They had an outdoor, seated tasting area.
Boy do I look like crap.
We sampled their four Champagnes.
Number three, South Coast Winery.
That’ll be $600 for the 5 cases, you drunks.
For those of you who don’t know what the California state flag looks like.
Kelli in the vineyard.
This is a setting called “sepia”. Kinda cool but I think I like the black and white pictures better.
Next winery, Ponte.
Our final winery for the day, Wilson Creek.
We sampled port wine out of a chocolate shot glass. It was a little too sweet.
We decided to take the rest of day back to Thornton.
We liked everything they had to offer, they rock!!!!
A fresh herb garden they use for the restaurant.
Kelli reflects on the landscape on the way home.
That night, we all went out to dinner.
Mike is not sure what to do with these three women.
The next day, Kelli and I took a drive through LA.
Yeah, I’m going to have pictures of LA without having this one.
Remember River Phoenix?
We didn’t have time to go-go here.
A short side trip for some real estate shopping.
Dinner again that night, this time at a mexican joint.
This was done with the camera, not some software program.
After dinner, we went to Knotts Berry Farm for Fright Night.
It was too dark to get any good pictures….
So I only have these few.
Mannnno!!!!
Now for the big surprise….
We went all the way to CA, to go on a cruise…
But Mike didn’t know, it was a surprise for his birthday.
SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!
He had no idea until he got out of the car and saw the ship and the prepacked luggage.
You’d be happy too if you just found out you were going on a kick-ass vacation for your birthday!!!
Our future was so bright, we had to wear shades.
Goes for the move, but he was blocked.
Our small, small, small room.
Delcie got the “birthday” package for her room.
Why yes beautiful lady, I will eat with you.
Great, there goes the neighborhood.
Mike really likes this bridge.
He tries to explain the size of things that matter in his life.
No time to waste in starting some fun, so Delcie and Mike play some shuffle board.
Then I showed Mike a lesson in some basketball.
We went on a tour of the spa facility, and Kelli got to be the example.
Muster time.
We are going to die.
My sexy lady, before we head out in the evening.
Sharp, as always.
Delcie’s parent’s made the trip as well, to Mike’s surprise.
Well, actually, a lot of people made the trip, to Mike’s surprise.
Surprise….again!!!
Great, how am I supposed to get birthday nookie when so much family is around.
I wish for the best birthday nookie ever!!
Most republicans want bush, Mike wants Reagan.
The next morning, and it’s time to go sun bathing.
So while Kelli relaxed….
I walked among the idiots.
The music of the ocean.
After an art auction, and Kelli listens to the piano while sitting next to our new art.
This is a picture of a picture taken by the cruise ship at dinner. Make me pose with a dumb pirate, and that’s what you get.
Look at all these fabulous prizes.
Formal night, and it’s time to meet the Captain.
Hey everyone, look over here for a picture.
Piss off!!!
I didn’t get a picture of the Captain, but here is a picture of Julie McCoy.
Pulling into port at Ensenada Mexico.
We signed up for a tour of a local winery….
And seeing that they like wine…..
And we like wine….
It was off to L. A. Cetto!!
We arrived at the winery with our taste buds ready to go.
Always stop to smell the flowers.
Our tour guide was very keen on showing us things other than a full glass of wine….
Can’t he see we just want to drink?
The women discuss when we are going to drink.
Who cares if this is where they make the wine, where do they pour it?
What, all that talking about drinking wine and not one picture of everyone drinking wine?
It seems that while in downtown Ensenada I realized I didn’t take any pictures of us drinking wine. Oh well.
Here’s a picture of us drinking beer for you instead (cause you never see that happen on this website).
How do you avoid the $10 corkage fee when you don’t have a bottle opener?
Push in the cork.
After a long day of drinking, we were tired, but not so tired….
That we couldn’t act like drunk fools!!!
Mike, however, decided to just hide from it all.
Yo, check out our matchin’ watches we done bought!!!
Our pianist for the evening, Adam.
Dinner that evening with everyone, this time no birthday surprise.
As always, lookin’ good!!!
Our second, yes second, dinner of the night, sushi.
Kelli pretends to be a mermaid.
Well, the trip is over, and now it’s time to pack and head home.
Kelli has had enough of me and the camera, and she’s getting away from me. Hope you enjoyed the pics!!!!
