Our first night out in Boston, And Don trys to tell me he looks cool (cold is more like it).
We all went doen to the subway, better know as the “T”, to catch a train over to Fenway Park.
Outside Fenway, this is some local landmark.
Under the baseball stadium is where we were headed. A dive of a bowling alley.
The bowling alley.
Unlike regular pins, these were taller and skinner. Also, you used a ball the size of a softball.
Disco was playing, and the lights were whirling, what a night.
Don, Scott T., and I left bowling and went to the club level at the hotel…
Where the view was spectacular.
The next day, the snow storm that had rocked the DC area hit Boston.
So we all went to dinner in it.
Lou sporting four women, he must be the man!
With a Smile like that, it’s a good thing we can see both of his hands.
Dinner was at Vinny Testa’s Bar Ristorante, and as you can see, by the time I got there everyone had already paired off for the evening.
The bottle of wine in front of Gina….coincidence, I don’t think so.
All that excitement wore down Don, so he went back to the room early to read.
The next morning at the meeting kickoff, our fearless leader gets things going….
At the reception later that evening, we debate the definition of fearless.
The next day, Don and I went for a small walk to see what was going on and found this sculpture outside the building.
Back inside the building, the pipes had burst (that’s a dryer to the right) and the entire first and second floors were under a few inches of water.
Those are actually hair dryers for Elizabeth Taylor.
After our last session, Don and I stole away to see the city of Boston a little more.
We were looking for some place fun to go because…
Sometimes you wanna go, where everybody knows your name…
The bar actually looks nothing like the TV show, but the people there were fun anyway.
We then headed across the Boston Common…
Past the state house….
Past this cool looking alley…
To find this plaque about Paul Revere, and…
This one about these dead dudes.
We then headed way across town to see the Boston tea party ship. It was closed, but hey, we saw it, right?
Later that night, Don and I get dressed for the formal event.
As did everyone else.
These are the dudes I work with. Lucky me.
This sign was hung outside the dinner area, apparently they meant Special Olympics.
The Olympic thing had nothing to do with anything.
My dinner mates….Once again, lucky me.
At least dessert was good.
Three of my favorite people from the company.
Trying to go out drinking, and the flooding made it difficult to leave.
But Don, being a natural drunkin’ leader, found the way to the cab.
And the cab found it’s way to “The Black Rose” and the old Smartforce crew.
Interesting looking urinals, yes?
We all hung out at the Black Rose and reminisced about the good old days.
But alas, all good things must come to an end….
Or at least all ends must be moved to another bar.
Our hotel bar was closed, but the one across the street wasn’t!!
Last call, get ’em while you can.
The kicked us out, so we hung out in their lobby, finished our drinks, and played sad songs on the piano.
Lou, wanting to cheer everyone up at 3:30am, decided to buy pizza.
Thanks Lou!!!!!
Well that’s all from Boston, it’s time for Scott, Bill, and I to get back to drinking.
