Originally built by the German settlers in the late 1800’s.
City living space was short, so everyone moved to the hill sides.
Tired of walking the steep cliffs, the Germans built a tram system reminiscent of the Steilbahns(inclines) from their homeland.
Originally coal and people were moved up and down Mount Washington, now, just people.
Most of which come to have their picture taken on the overlook.
The next set is a group I took so I could make one big panoramic picture.
